Measuring the Effectiveness of ELM at Home in Sarangani and North Cotabato
Improving Early Literacy and Maths skills through a more nurturing home environment
Summary
Responding to low literacy and numeracy outcomes in South Central Mindanao, Save the Children began implementing its Early Literacy and Maths at Home program to support children with poor school attendance. The program provided practical sessions and used indigenous mother-tongue-based learning materials with both parents and children. The results of the assessment show a positive increase in children's literacy and math skills.
