IFS Involves Teachers and Parents to Improve the Quality of ECD Programs
> Innovations for Poverty Action > Institute for Fiscal Studies Uses Play-Based ECD Instruction in Ghana
Summary
In this report, the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) identifies three obstacles to improving the quality of ECD programming in rural Ghana: lack of training and resources for teachers, lack of educational involvement by caregivers and lack of play-based learning. IFS decided to address these challenges by helping Ghanaian teachers to develop more play-based ECD programming with the assistance of volunteer mothers.
