Education Survey Results from Eight Clusters in Cambodia

Summary

Food for the Hungry Cambodia conducted two baseline surveys to establish a benchmark for effective project planning, implementation, and to identify the priorities of the education project. The survey covered areas where Food for the Hungry Cambodia is currently implementing the integrated projects.
The findings demonstrate that the total IDELA score of children 5.6 - 6.5 years of age was 48.7% and only 6% of them have mastered IDELA skills who achieved 75% or more in the different domains: emergent literacy, emergent numeracy, social-emotional and motor skills. With these results, the study recommended improving the children’s club curriculum content, promoting entry into grade one and promoting strong awareness to caregivers, to engage in children’s learning activities.
