Dear IDELA COP,
Our team conducted a baseline data collection -part of an RCT- in ECD centers in Uganda. There are 7- and 8-years old children in the sample. We are aware that IDELA is intended for children up to 6 years old. Hence, we are not sure how to proceed with the analysis and would highly appreciate any advice or previous experience you could share.
– How could we interpret the data for older children? Are there benchmarks available?
– If there were contextual reasons behind a higher number of 7 – 8 years old in ECD (such as learning loss consequences of COVID), would it be reasonable to include them in the sample? Have you observed something similar in recent studies/ IDELA data collection? Our research partner is currently conducting separate analyses for children older than 6 years old, but we would highly appreciate guidance from previous experience on how to deal with the analysis on 7 to 8 years old.
Thank you
