IDELA evaluations demonstrated significant and sustained gaps in the performance of Roma and non-Roma children and identified the areas in which the gaps were most noteworthy. This data has allowed the Ukrainian Step by Step Foundation (USSF) to tailor their programming to meet the needs of Roma children. USSF is dedicated to supporting the development of Roma children, and giving Roma children the same strong, equal foundation for primary education as non-Roma children is crucial to ensuring their continued school attendance and dedication to learning. By addressing inequities at the start of children's education, USSF hopes to close the substantial gaps in adult educational achievement.
